Friday quick reads, knitting and music

As the weekend beckons, I thought it would be nice to share a couple of bits n pieces with you lovely bloggers.

First are quick reads from two simply fab writerly bloggers.

Theresa Milstein's snippet from her novel is currently On Ms Snark's First Victim Talkin Heads competition. Go Theresa!!

Fellow shoe-fetishist Ann has her piece Melting Pot Avenue up on her blog, Inkpots n Quills. It shoulda been a contender in another competition but her pc decided to be all nasty so she missed her deadline.

And here is a worthy reason why I wish I could knit!

And finally, how could I resist? This always, always, always cheers me up!

Happy Friday!!!!

Old Kitty, you just made my night! Where to start?

First, thanks for linking people to my dialogue piece. Extra http:// pops up, but if people delete the extra on top, the link works. And thank you for the sweet comment you left me. I was a little reluctant to reveal my piece, but I'm glad I did.

I checked out Inkpots and Quills, and loved the piece. Immigration and ethnicity were my focus in graduate school.

How tragic for the poor chicken, but nice that some are being saved. I'm a hopeless knitter. I blame it on being left-handed, but I don't think that's the real reason.

The cat was so funny. I can't picture my cat doing that.

Visiting your blog is always a nice surprise.

Oh Kitty thank you so much for linking to my blog post. How very generous of you!!!!

I am not sure what to make of the chicken jumpers...But I could try and give you a over the web knitting lessons.

Still smiling after watching the music loving cat.

Tried to link onto Theresa's story, but couldn't. Must check her story out.

Have a wonderful and Glorious Friday!

Cats eh? It's all about them!

Loved the video about the poor chickens! It's nice to know that next time I knit a wonky vest, at least there's a chook in England who'd appreciate it.

Very funny!

Lovely kitty video!

I feel so sorry for those hens. I only ever buy free range eggs because I can't bear to think of how battery hens are kept. I think it should be illegal.

Old Kitty: I love how I bask in the effervesence of your blog. Almost as if we sit side by side to enjoy the treats our humans give us...oh MY...sweaters for chickens? Hmm.Tommy can't knit. She tried. She wound up with more of those stitch pearl things
than she started up. Those poor chickens would have blankets if Tommy knit. She's useless. And thank you for the writer tips--Tommy says she's gonna look at em--might make her write more than her name...or mine! :)

Have a great weekend!

I've seen it all, the sweaters for the hens. I didn't realize there was a hen rescue...good for them! Poor hens.

Very cute guitar cat--of course getting head rubs from the guy's knuckles. LOL.

Oh I have never seen that video before! That is hilarious!

And those poor chickens - I have heard of that with penguins too. I wish I could knit - I also follow a kniting/kitty blog - every time I am there I am amazed. If I tried, well, I would feel awful for the poor chickens!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Noir you gorgeous cat you!

Awww you crack me up, you really do!

Do you have Tommy in stitches all the time? (Stitches, gerrit? Knitting, stitches.. oh ok.)

Of course the chickens would love Tommy's knitted blankets! They're chickens! And I hope she does get inspired to write her novel - she might even dedicate it to you. That'll be nice wouldn't it?

Well, Old Kitty--Thomasina here, and I finally meet YOU! Seems you and my ferocious feline, Noir, visit over the blogosphere. My round eyed cat,who loves to fetch-urged me check you out. Noir has a habit to leave up blogs he feels I oughta read. And since he did, I've visited a few of your author chums. Enjoyed it--and I'll definitely be back. Now, Old Kitty, you must xcuse me. Noir just put his claws into my leg, after he dropped his toy at my feet...time for fetch!
